Bothy Threads start!!

I love Polstitches hand-dyed fabric.  Just some really stunning combinations.  While on there a week ago I was perusing their Charts & Kits section and came upon Bothy Threads Fairy Tale kits.  OMG!!!!

I promptly ordered the Wizard of Oz kit and it arrived last Thursday.  I don't know why I ordered opalescent Lugana.  I started stitching and had trouble seeing some of the holes, and then miscounted a few times and wound up having to rip out a large section.  So I switched to a piece of Jobelan I had.

Now, I would have rather stitched with the green/yellow fabric that came in the kit, but I did not want to wait another week or so for another piece of fabric.

So above is my small start.  There is something greatly soothing about stitching with all one color.  The hunk of floss that came in the kit, HUGE!!!  But that is because they tell you to stitch with three strands.  It gives great coverage and you cannot see the fabric coming through.

I found this app that lets you put text on pictures.  Yeah, I know I am probably WAY behind in discovering that, but I saw someone had done a slideshow of a project from Day 1 to the end and I thought what a neat idea, so I am going to try to do that with this one.

I already have my eye on all of the other kits in the series!  Just stunning.  And I noticed that on the front cover it says adapted from Bramble Crafts paper cutouts.  So, what do I do?  I search Bramble Crafts and come upon their Etsy page.  YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!!

So many other ones I hope get turned into cross stitch patterns.  Cinderella and Rapunzel and Princess and the Pea, and on and on.

Lord help me!!!!  LOL.

Until next time...
