New stuff...and an update!

I have been working steadily on Alice.

I joined Down Sunshine Lane's Needle Minder of the Month club and this is the first one I received a few days ago.

I also purchased the new Kindle Oasis that came out a little while ago.  It is very different than my other Kindle, the Paperwhite.  I can fit this one in my purse, which I love.

Bothy Threads, the company that made the Alice In Wonderland kit, just released two more in the Fairy Tales series, Snow White and Cinderella.  I will be adding these to my collection!

I also found this new product to do your nails.  I purchased the starter set.  I have to try this!  They key for me is how long before it chips?  I do a lot with my hands, working on the computer, housework.  I currently do my own gel nails at home, and it lasts normally up to two weeks, but it is very time consuming to do it.

Spray Perfect Nails

I will let you know what I think when I get the kit and try it out!

Until next time...

Officially at the halfway mark!

I am officially at the halfway mark on Alice In Wonderland.

I went to a stitch lock-in at In Stitches in Alexandria on Sunday and was able to pick up these cute scissors and a sock money needle minder!

Until next time...

Finally...an update on Alice In Wonderland!!!

I feel like loads of time has passed since I was able to post an update of Alice In Wonderland.  I have found it increasingly difficult to find any time to stitch.

But I have decided even if I only put in one length of thread a day, that is what I am going to do.  Baby steps.

But I was able to sit down last night for a good chunk of time and was able to get some more done.

I have read a few good books lately.  Check out my Goodreads profile to see them.  I am one book ahead of my goal of reading 50 books this year.

And the new season of Orange Is The New Black came out today on Netflix!!

Until next time...

Thread Winder Box ~ Finished!!

The wonderful Vonna a/k/a The Twisted Stitcher completed my thread winder box last week and I received it in the mail Saturday.  I love it!  And everything fits in it nicely.

Until next time...and I will have an update on Alice In Wonderland when I post next!  I have been working on it, albeit slowly.

A few updates...

I have been so busy with work I have not had much time to update!

I went to a lock-in at In Stitches in Alexandria and won a door prize, a Blackbird Designs thread winder box pattern with a few chipboard thread winders and a chipboard circle box.  I decided to spray paint the box a glittery silver and the thread winders each a different color of glitter paint.  Well, the thread winders peeled and the box was a bit misshapen, so I decided to go to Michaels and get a wood box with a hinge and magnetic closure and wood cutouts, and they all turned out great!

I have sent the box and stitching to the wonderful Vonna, aka the Twisted Stitcher, to do the box top finishing for me.  I hope to have it back by the end of next week.  The picture had the stitching done in a red-colored variegated thread on beige fabric.  I decided to go with all black thread on a hand-dyed fabric.  Here are some pics.

I have done a tiny bit more on the Bothy Threads Alice In Wonderland kit.

And I have a spot on my wall to fill with a smallish piece, so I decided to stitch Heart In Hand's Always You.

I have also been reading still.  You can check out my updates on Goodreads.  And of course watching my shows.  Two good movies I have seen lately, The Boy, which was creepy as hell, and Secret In Their Eyes with Julia Roberts.  I recommend both!

Until next time...

Short and sweet update on Bothy Threads Alice In Wonderland

Just a quick post to show my updated stitching on Bothy Threads Alice In Wonderland kit.  I don't feel like I made a lot of progress, but I guess I did.  Stitching the Cheshire Cat seemed to take forever.  LOL.

Until my next update!!!
