<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">I also found this new product to do your nails. I purchased the starter set. I have to try this! They key for me is how long before it chips? I do a lot with my hands, working on the computer, housework. I currently do my own gel nails at home, and it lasts normally up to two weeks, but it is very time consuming to do it.</span><br />

I have found it increasingly difficult to find any time to stitch.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">But I have decided even if I only put in one length of thread a day, that is what I am going to do. Baby steps. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">But I was able to sit down last night for a good chunk of time and was able to get some more done.</span><br />
<br />

<span style="font-size: large;"> </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">I have read a few good books lately. Check out my Goodreads profile to see them. I am one book ahead of my goal of reading 50 books this year. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">And the new season of Orange Is The New Black came out today on Netflix!!</span><br />
<br />

I have been working on it, albeit slowly. </span>Daniellehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10264011735420763054noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7091906061716755540.post-9643807315362323452016-05-24T15:48:00.000-07:002016-05-24T15:49:33.142-07:00A few updates...<span style="font-size: large;">I have been so busy with work I have not had much time to update!</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">I went to a lock-in at In Stitches in Alexandria and won a door prize, a Blackbird Designs thread winder box pattern with a few chipboard thread winders and a chipboard circle box. I decided to spray paint the box a glittery silver and the thread winders each a different color of glitter paint. Well, the thread winders peeled and the box was a bit misshapen, so I decided to go to Michaels and get a wood box with a hinge and magnetic closure and wood cutouts, and they all turned out great! </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">I have sent the box and stitching to the wonderful Vonna, aka the Twisted Stitcher, to do the box top finishing for me. I hope to have it back by the end of next week. The picture had the stitching done in a red-colored variegated thread on beige fabric. I decided to go with all black thread on a hand-dyed fabric. Here are some pics.</span><br />

<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">I have done a tiny bit more on the Bothy Threads Alice In Wonderland kit. </span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh87ermcT4YlX75p5ge7ONnrtjAgFm2MAcbI1ov5LMYetwaKtPCh6L1DOgMzsIhpOMze4q_AefhMtWNiA_-duRauTZ8HWigek0OVTpTjCl2y-rNxd43quhvZwZceSyHWRYFMQ1ZpP9SWsk/s1600/2016-05-24+17.43.19.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh87ermcT4YlX75p5ge7ONnrtjAgFm2MAcbI1ov5LMYetwaKtPCh6L1DOgMzsIhpOMze4q_AefhMtWNiA_-duRauTZ8HWigek0OVTpTjCl2y-rNxd43quhvZwZceSyHWRYFMQ1ZpP9SWsk/s320/2016-05-24+17.43.19.jpg" width="241" /></a></div>
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;"> And I have a spot on my wall to fill with a smallish piece, so I decided to stitch Heart In Hand's Always You. </span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj1U_JCapdRmn6iYAdKhokUqJWZR-B_fuN_5ikd_MdiKrg_3dDFoeGhjqvFzYmw6kwKcfqwGU1Gg4D5n4jj7MWlnvQ09sGUIoWAEHp8tfaPd1VDxuI2Y2FwPGAfputNeZiwdsmhInr_eA0/s1600/2016-05-24+17.01.58.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="244" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj1U_JCapdRmn6iYAdKhokUqJWZR-B_fuN_5ikd_MdiKrg_3dDFoeGhjqvFzYmw6kwKcfqwGU1Gg4D5n4jj7MWlnvQ09sGUIoWAEHp8tfaPd1VDxuI2Y2FwPGAfputNeZiwdsmhInr_eA0/s320/2016-05-24+17.01.58.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">I have also been reading still. You can check out my updates on Goodreads. And of course watching my shows. Two good movies I have seen lately, The Boy, which was creepy as hell, and Secret In Their Eyes with Julia Roberts. I recommend both!</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Until next time... </span><br />

I don't feel like I made a lot of progress, but I guess I did. Stitching the Cheshire Cat seemed to take forever. LOL.</span><br />

<span style="font-size: large;">Until my next update!!! </span>Daniellehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10264011735420763054noreply@blogger.com7tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7091906061716755540.post-20431271313253704602016-04-28T08:59:00.000-07:002016-04-28T09:00:43.470-07:00Bothy Threads<span style="font-size: large;">Oh, boy, do I love the Bothy Threads Fairy Tales kits! And I have not stitched on Aida in ages, but the Aida that comes in these kits is wonderful, and I find counting to be easier on the Aida also. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">This is my progress on Alice In Wonderland. These kits suggest using three strands of black. It covers wonderfully. I now own six of these kits! I plan on slowly adding them all to my collection. </span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiRUt8Z46g5FBT-TIBaLDOHGHYqBCHbhw5KtBwu-Mgae5zhOzhMpc1V9WPlNQ1mbdQUe8n5mhld6I_2z3Q7XrL5fPN7FYtmJC_FD7IA_acbeyE6UEMoaTGToInNaWfnJNA8aZDcs68uJG4/s1600/2016-04-28+11.45.20.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiRUt8Z46g5FBT-TIBaLDOHGHYqBCHbhw5KtBwu-Mgae5zhOzhMpc1V9WPlNQ1mbdQUe8n5mhld6I_2z3Q7XrL5fPN7FYtmJC_FD7IA_acbeyE6UEMoaTGToInNaWfnJNA8aZDcs68uJG4/s320/2016-04-28+11.45.20.jpg" width="267" /></a></div>
<span style="font-size: large;"> </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">They just came out with <a href="http://www.bothythreads.com/cross-stitch-enchanted-c-77_227.html">three</a> more. I especially love the Mermaid Cove and Dragon Castle ones. </span>
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">You would think I would get tired of stitching all black, but it is surprisingly soothing and non-taxing on my brain after a long day of work. And it is great to step back and see the picture come to life.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Here is a pic of the Beauty and the Beast kit. Isn't that fabric great?</span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgp-hFKSR4kX5L-reUf-Sx0X4u8xXzgOKQmmuHtgCdiWjZXcfP2edsBzwGSYfVZhPsb0MZCEcbTDJB9KOI7lzlqX4Nq3yTrkNM1pkZu-Ak-JE63x4ykGiteYXM2rup4dvjvXVT-V4_JrNs/s1600/20160428_115508.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgp-hFKSR4kX5L-reUf-Sx0X4u8xXzgOKQmmuHtgCdiWjZXcfP2edsBzwGSYfVZhPsb0MZCEcbTDJB9KOI7lzlqX4Nq3yTrkNM1pkZu-Ak-JE63x4ykGiteYXM2rup4dvjvXVT-V4_JrNs/s320/20160428_115508.jpg" width="180" /></a></span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh3whizYdmkddrnP53Iv8cu4ThNShOfKHYqZUwxSLEhTtAXsYfm78VTBXQ1y2i0TZOxvbpysMT20AFJZx59LEUy9X0pxB6jOcP3hO981TWzdIDINqt15_nskAWDqWZlV2zsWnhtDnoF4mg/s1600/20160428_115522.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh3whizYdmkddrnP53Iv8cu4ThNShOfKHYqZUwxSLEhTtAXsYfm78VTBXQ1y2i0TZOxvbpysMT20AFJZx59LEUy9X0pxB6jOcP3hO981TWzdIDINqt15_nskAWDqWZlV2zsWnhtDnoF4mg/s320/20160428_115522.jpg" width="180" /></a></div>
<span style="font-size: large;"> </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">The one issue I did have is with the metallic thread they include in some of the kits. You can see it in the pic of the kit above. Too thin and fiddly for me. So I purchased some cards of Rainbow Gallery Petite Braid and will use that. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">The rest of the kits are on their way from <a href="https://www.etsy.com/shop/HixxySoft?ref=l2-shopheader-name">HixxySoft</a> Etsy store. The best service ever! They ship the same day I order them and I get them in about 5 business days. Not bad for coming from the UK. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Until next time... </span>Daniellehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10264011735420763054noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7091906061716755540.post-66545995584962353612016-04-14T08:43:00.002-07:002016-04-14T08:43:46.604-07:00Bothy Threads start!!<span style="font-size: large;">I love Polstitches hand-dyed fabric. Just some really stunning combinations. While on there a week ago I was perusing their Charts & Kits section and came upon <a href="http://www.polstitchesdesigns.co.uk/bothy.html">Bothy Threads</a> Fairy Tale kits. OMG!!!! </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">I promptly ordered the Wizard of Oz kit and it arrived last Thursday. I don't know why I ordered opalescent Lugana. I started stitching and had trouble seeing some of the holes, and then miscounted a few times and wound up having to rip out a large section. So I switched to a piece of Jobelan I had.</span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjofeRNzy3-lVy1Ejc-97qQBQ39CGjV_mGdO_CJOdoOvBHhqkWw5NXVcqPwAmOtxfhg9n_kYL6AVp99s4EmlVWaIBgi7DzMn-8MlqJRDjwr9_QtFWMlDwzbNJbYPy4u-woUl_NDGrc5oD8/s1600/1460639030038.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjofeRNzy3-lVy1Ejc-97qQBQ39CGjV_mGdO_CJOdoOvBHhqkWw5NXVcqPwAmOtxfhg9n_kYL6AVp99s4EmlVWaIBgi7DzMn-8MlqJRDjwr9_QtFWMlDwzbNJbYPy4u-woUl_NDGrc5oD8/s320/1460639030038.jpg" width="259" /></a></div>
<span style="font-size: large;"> </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Now, I would have rather stitched with the green/yellow fabric that came in the kit, but I did not want to wait another week or so for another piece of fabric. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">So above is my small start. There is something greatly soothing about stitching with all one color. The hunk of floss that came in the kit, HUGE!!! But that is because they tell you to stitch with three strands. It gives great coverage and you cannot see the fabric coming through.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">I found this app that lets you put text on pictures. Yeah, I know I am probably WAY behind in discovering that, but I saw someone had done a slideshow of a project from Day 1 to the end and I thought what a neat idea, so I am going to try to do that with this one. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">I already have my eye on all of the other kits in the series! Just stunning. And I noticed that on the front cover it says adapted from Bramble Crafts paper cutouts. So, what do I do? I search Bramble Crafts and come upon their <a href="https://www.etsy.com/shop/BrambleCrafts1">Etsy</a> page. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!! </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">So many other ones I hope get turned into cross stitch patterns. Cinderella and Rapunzel and Princess and the Pea, and on and on. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Lord help me!!!! LOL.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Until next time... </span>Daniellehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10264011735420763054noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7091906061716755540.post-69763458106999118462016-04-07T08:13:00.000-07:002016-04-07T08:13:05.251-07:00I am in love with AC Moore!<span style="font-size: large;">Hmm, I see it has already been two weeks since I last posted. LOL.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">I have been working on Nora Corbett's Berry Collector pixie and have gotten quite a bit done for only a week or so. I am stitching it on a Polstitches Jobelan fabric. I just do not remember what color!</span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj2uJzKGumhzTTbaQdOwXw-JZ5S8HOGHeTdEIvIotYwyr2ibwdNep2v4_Pe1g7Cm0p1Lq9MGNNGCUNvGg55wVjSHzN4FncKEdcwADSyyt80nGthRHmQ5WDRzv5JF8ZskLtlF-kKG0naP_8/s1600/2016-04-07+10.57.53.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj2uJzKGumhzTTbaQdOwXw-JZ5S8HOGHeTdEIvIotYwyr2ibwdNep2v4_Pe1g7Cm0p1Lq9MGNNGCUNvGg55wVjSHzN4FncKEdcwADSyyt80nGthRHmQ5WDRzv5JF8ZskLtlF-kKG0naP_8/s320/2016-04-07+10.57.53.jpg" width="257" /></a></div>
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">I had a dentist appointment this morning, just a routine teeth cleaning, and so I decided to go to AC Moore afterwards. See the stems at the bottom of the piece above? In the pattern they are curved. However, I find it difficult to do that with DMC, so I bought some DMC Memory Thread to try out. Since it is covered copper wire, you can bend it any way you want. So, stay tuned for that pic! Here is the color wire I got. And they only had ONE left of this color, so I was thankful I was able to get it.</span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgUfCaTM0u-Y0bfIvQClu6-WE7BkgeMtXRMzMlsynk1UvQ0L2Q-VSP6q9ujxNq9DcpvKqEu35AYslIwQoC8Y-hD01G6JyDEV6pVPmS_0FkmL9V-aR5v9O5_Gv3PdNVdH5kCHeaseK1diL0/s1600/20160407_104614.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgUfCaTM0u-Y0bfIvQClu6-WE7BkgeMtXRMzMlsynk1UvQ0L2Q-VSP6q9ujxNq9DcpvKqEu35AYslIwQoC8Y-hD01G6JyDEV6pVPmS_0FkmL9V-aR5v9O5_Gv3PdNVdH5kCHeaseK1diL0/s320/20160407_104614.jpg" width="180" /></a></div>
<span style="font-size: large;"> </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Well, as I was making my way to where the DMC is I spotted a great bag for carrying projects to Stitch Night or a retreat. Now, Vera Bradley makes one like this, but the one at AC Moore is bigger, and for only $12.99, what a great deal! They had many different designs. I just liked this one the most.</span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEggzWMPVQrMbO6ZF3mohCQcX6dEKZbFKODaGWAASWA37W-nGLzSvpUwcJ0JPPt5mxGHLH9BNxvJWGqQjmxNyqwvM8FrIYerfo4rY49ZXAMYK22LgxIulcVEfFz1vel9lTVHKFExL-sVbbQ/s1600/20160407_105956.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEggzWMPVQrMbO6ZF3mohCQcX6dEKZbFKODaGWAASWA37W-nGLzSvpUwcJ0JPPt5mxGHLH9BNxvJWGqQjmxNyqwvM8FrIYerfo4rY49ZXAMYK22LgxIulcVEfFz1vel9lTVHKFExL-sVbbQ/s320/20160407_105956.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">I also picked up these casual shoes. I have been looking for a pair forever, and these caught my eye, and for only $5.00 how could I not get them? And they actually fit and are comfortable. I am someone who only has tennis shoes, boots, or dress shoes, nothing in between. I think these will fit the bill!</span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi6JvFJ3eteCgyH9xA_KyFatftaL546sP4Oi0S73s0dA2O_p37GCvebHVf5eolp-mcqFhiqrjQSbwsAUPovkCW0cCENUa-BL8jeVvs4JFHip4brQ2RWX8BVo17n56gVjUGjGPfYO66cUSM/s1600/20160407_104431.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi6JvFJ3eteCgyH9xA_KyFatftaL546sP4Oi0S73s0dA2O_p37GCvebHVf5eolp-mcqFhiqrjQSbwsAUPovkCW0cCENUa-BL8jeVvs4JFHip4brQ2RWX8BVo17n56gVjUGjGPfYO66cUSM/s320/20160407_104431.jpg" width="180" /></a></div>
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">So, all in all, a good shopping trip. It's funny that I seem to find things, like the shoes and the bag, when I am NOT actively looking for them. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">And I am currently reading a great psychological thriller book, Try Not To Breathe by Holly Seddon. If you like that kind of book, you should definitely check it out!</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Until next time... </span><br />

<span style="font-size: large;">I started reading <a href="http://www.amazon.com/The-Winter-Girl-A-Novel-ebook/dp/B00WPQ99CM">The Winter Girl</a> by Matt Marinovich. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Short and sweet today, folks. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">And wishing my dad a very happy birthday! He turns 60 today. </span>Daniellehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10264011735420763054noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7091906061716755540.post-26238634475124214602016-03-14T10:57:00.001-07:002016-03-14T10:57:36.109-07:00Woodlawn!<span style="font-size: large;">Saturday I met Jill in Alexandria, Virginia at Woodlawn and we had lunch at the cafe and walked through and saw all of the beautiful needlework, and then did some shopping at In Stitches, which is right up the street from the mansion. I had nothing to enter this year, but I told Jill as we were walking around that next year "You're going to see my shit all up in here!" Yes, I have a potty mouth, but try to keep it out of this blog, and I am proper in public. Well, most of the time!!! LOL.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">The only thing I purchased from the Nashville market was the Kaleidoscope Q-snap holders for both the 11 inch and 8 inch Q-snap. You can see them here on my progress on CCN's Be Mine. I was able to stitch some more this weekend on it. </span><br />

<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">I finished River Road by Carol Goodman. It was okay. I am looking for a new book to start now. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">Like a lot of women I have fought my weight for all of my adult life. I have been thin and not so thin. I looked in my closet the other day and said enough is enough. For months now I have been squeezing myself into clothes that I may never truly fit in again. So I did a major cleanout and am going this weekend to get some new clothes, that actually fit! I have finally realized that I may never lose the 40 or 50 pounds that I would like to lose, that the weight I am now may be the weight I remain at. So it's time to start accepting it. And getting off the crazy train of dieting and saying I can't have this and that, and oh, no, not ANY of that! </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Here's wishing YOU peace with your body, whatever shape and size it is. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Until next time... </span><br />

Yikes, since October 14 of last year!!! So, a bunch of snippets about what has been happening.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">* I have been all over the place with stitching and have started a bunch, but not finished anything. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">* I have been working on Country Cottage Needleworks Be Mine on a Polstitches fabric, although I don't know what color. I started using Thread Heaven on the floss before stitching with it and I have noticed a difference in how the thread lays, in a good way. </span><br />
<br />

<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">* I bought a new iPad for work. </span><br />

<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">*I bought a new car, a Ford Mustang, in Deep Impact Blue.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">*I received back from the fantastically talented Jill Rensel my Nora Corbett Wisteria pixie.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi-YgNAiHweha3GCnAvLGI64IlSnWPXPmt1trqG4bv40vK3DaZcjEfs-RxhHPGe597g6ybg1ZNR3Kb3NC9f8E1nfsQBIGnPYkPNPPpehpKPt50l9NJz6dxKxqVCNnVA_wyxiTGsY2FHOtw/s1600/2016-03-09+07.48.53.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="297" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi-YgNAiHweha3GCnAvLGI64IlSnWPXPmt1trqG4bv40vK3DaZcjEfs-RxhHPGe597g6ybg1ZNR3Kb3NC9f8E1nfsQBIGnPYkPNPPpehpKPt50l9NJz6dxKxqVCNnVA_wyxiTGsY2FHOtw/s320/2016-03-09+07.48.53.jpg" width="320" /></a></span></div>
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">*I set a challenge for myself to read 50 books this year. So far this year I have read 9! And here is the list:</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">The Memory Box by Eva Lesko Natiello</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">You by Caroline Kepnes</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">The Cinderella Murder by Mary Higgins Clark</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Disclaimer by Renee Knight</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Dangerous Girls by Abigail Haas</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">The Fever by Megan Abbott</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">The Ex by Alafair Burke</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Hidden Bodies by Caroline Kepnes</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">The Widow by Fiona Barton</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">And I am currently reading River Road by Carol Goodman. </span><br />
<br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">*I am very much looking forward to purchasing the Kaleidoscope Q-snap clamps that were just released at Nashville! I am heading to visit the Woodlawn exhibit this Saturday with my dear friend, Jill. I look forward to this time every year.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">*I still am watching all of my favorite TV shows, Girls, Grey's Anatomy, Scandal, How To Get Away With Murder. I am looking forward to Orange Is The New Black coming back in June, plus Wentworth in April, and Game of Thrones in April. So sad that Downton Abbey is over! And this is the last season for The Good Wife. I also started watching that new show The Family. Way creepy. And last weekend I finished the newest season of House of Cards on Netflix. Oh, and Bates Motel just came back on too. Wow. I watch A LOT of TV!! LOL.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">I think that is enough for now. Until later...but hopefully not six months later!! </span>Daniellehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10264011735420763054noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7091906061716755540.post-76280430120553435332015-10-14T14:56:00.005-07:002015-10-14T14:56:46.270-07:00Secret Garden...the cover!!<span style="font-size: large;">I finished the front of the cover of my Secret Garden coloring book last night. </span><br />

I am new to using colored pencils, at least in a way where the stuff looks realistic, i.e., shading, et cetera. People have truly turned this into an art form! I have spent many hours watching YouTube videos (yes, people post videos of them coloring these pages!) and reading blog posts and doing research. She has two other books, <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Enchanted-Forest-Inky-Quest-Coloring/dp/1780674880/ref=pd_bxgy_14_text_y">Enchanted Forest</a> and <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Lost-Ocean-Inky-Adventure-Coloring/dp/0143108999/ref=pd_bxgy_14_text_z">Lost Ocean</a> that I have put on my Amazon Christmas List. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">The Hubs worked some overtime in the past two weeks and approved buying a set of <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Prismacolor-Premier-Soft-Colored-Pencils/dp/B00125JEIQ/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1444396403&sr=8-7&keywords=prismacolor+pencils">Prismacolor</a> colored pencils. Let me tell you, I purchased three at Michaels the other day, as they have them loose, and, wow, it is like night and day using them and just any old cheap colored pencil. You don't have to press hard at all to get color on the page, which is what was happening to me since I was using my stepdaughter's cheapo colored pencil set, and my hand and arm were killing me. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">My book will get here today and the colored pencils tomorrow. Stay tuned for pics of my work! You can even color the cover of this book! From reviews I read the pages are good quality too. I will be using the colored pencils and Micron Pigma pens, as I have a set of 16 of those. They do not bleed through pages like typical markers or gel pens. And since in Johanna Basford's books the images are printed on both sides, you don't want any bleed through at all.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">So, in my perusing I noticed people were getting these amazing backgrounds on some of the pages where it was soft and blended or looked like a night sky and I thought how in the world did they do that? Well.....I put a post on the Fans of Johanna Basford Facebook page and someone responded that you can use soft pastels to get that effect. Hmmm, okay. I have never used soft pastels, but off I went to Google to do a search, and I found a great video that showed how someone did it using cotton balls and Q-tips!!!! So, of course, I ordered a set of the pastels. I MUST try this!!!</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><iframe width="320" height="266" class="YOUTUBE-iframe-video" data-thumbnail-src="https://i.ytimg.com/vi/t1Syh0eJJbk/0.jpg" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/t1Syh0eJJbk?feature=player_embedded" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe></span></div>
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">On the stitching front I have not been stitching much recently, but when I do my arm and hand begins to ache. And last night it just was killing me. Ughhhhh. I am not sure why I keep going back to needlepoint when it winds up doing the same thing to me every.single.time! So, for now I am giving it a break and going to start a cross stitch piece, at least when everything gets here. I had sold all of my cross stitch stuff on eBay a while back, so have nothing at the moment. And I wanted to do an autumn/Halloween piece. So, what to do, what to do?</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">I decided on Nora Corbett's <a href="http://www.123stitch.com/item/Nora-Corbett-Electra-Cross-Stitch-Pattern/NC219">Electra</a>. I saw that someone stitched it without the wings or the moon, and I like that, so that is how I am going to do mine. Unfortunately I had to order the pattern and beads from one place, fabric from another (Sunny Dyes <a href="http://www.youthfulhandsneedlecrafts.com/collections/fabrics-for-autumn-halloween/products/harvest">Harvest</a> Lugana), and the DMC from a third place (yes, I am lazy like that in that instead of going to Michaels I would rather just order my DMC from 1-2-3 Stitch and let them pick out the colors). Yeahhhhh. So, who knows when I will be starting it!! The pattern and beads are shipping today, but I don't know about anything else.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">I would also like to stitch <a href="http://www.123stitch.com/item/Nora-Corbett-Gwen-Cross-Stitch-Pattern/NC220">Gwen</a> as a companion. I love the greens in her dress! </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">Until next time...</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>

I found this video. I am going to try this! I bought the metallic Sharpies today!</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" class="YOUTUBE-iframe-video" data-thumbnail-src="https://i.ytimg.com/vi/JRe17NKenWo/0.jpg" frameborder="0" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/JRe17NKenWo?feature=player_embedded" width="320"></iframe></span></div>
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">I have been loving doing some adult coloring! I found these free bookmarks and printed them out on matte photo paper I had. I used colored pencils to color these in.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiNIDCwaRinCJdebgpL6ITErBOioC6qf0a7UkSajSTSY7bgKItD4nB0aOl08FcEEepA5H-4yb5Gcabhyphenhyphenrp_oYe97bWJKYrzF0DttKssZ30bKEiJ9nEugkozL8gOYoJg-wyFXmUrTr49UMI/s1600/2015-10-01+10.55.42.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiNIDCwaRinCJdebgpL6ITErBOioC6qf0a7UkSajSTSY7bgKItD4nB0aOl08FcEEepA5H-4yb5Gcabhyphenhyphenrp_oYe97bWJKYrzF0DttKssZ30bKEiJ9nEugkozL8gOYoJg-wyFXmUrTr49UMI/s320/2015-10-01+10.55.42.jpg" width="320" /></a></span></div>
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">I did a bunch of research on different types of books and what is the best medium to use, colored pencil, gel pen, marker, et cetera. I have come to the conclusion that you need to have a mixed medium set. I have purchased a set of Staedler Triplus pens, a set of Prismacolor colored pencil and gel pens. Now, I did not know that finding a large set of gel pens was going to be ridiculous. How does Michaels and Office Depot NOT have a large set of gel pens? But they did not. So, I found a set of 100 gel pens at Costco with their own stand to hold the pens for $19.99!!!</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>

<span style="font-size: large;">I was able to order <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Secret-Garden-Inky-Treasure-Coloring/dp/1780671067/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1443804510&sr=8-1&keywords=the+secret+garden+coloring+book">The Secret Garden</a> coloring book by Johanna Basford. I have heard many great things about this one and Michaels had it, but with my eBay Bucks I have accumulated I was able to get the book for only 60 cents!!! This book has become so popular that there are boards dedicated on Pinterest for people to upload their finished pages. She also has an Enchanted Forest and Lost Ocean coloring book that I have put on my Christmas Wish List.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">I have been working steadily along on Autumn Logs.</span><br />

It is coming together slowly but surely. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgXKwZIkvCpntK05SJy67CGyy2Mzt-9BmqEzs88uOWGG3n5TbzsC2kHgjBLgrvZl2fWG_0Z97g7pvFTusoSkJUiIZfcdpGoYJyaAtFjsOnze2vq94t9e9Un16wPWGnuvef-TA0S65_iZLI/s1600/20150928_092646.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgXKwZIkvCpntK05SJy67CGyy2Mzt-9BmqEzs88uOWGG3n5TbzsC2kHgjBLgrvZl2fWG_0Z97g7pvFTusoSkJUiIZfcdpGoYJyaAtFjsOnze2vq94t9e9Un16wPWGnuvef-TA0S65_iZLI/s320/20150928_092646.jpg" width="180" /></a></div>
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Adult coloring books seem to be the current fad right now, and I have been dying to join in, as I like anything crafty. Heather at <a href="http://stitchinglotus.ca/2015/09/colouring-giveaway/" target="">Stitching Lotus</a> is hosting a coloring giveaway. She is giving away one issue of the UK's Relax With Art magazine and a pack of colored pencils. If you share the giveaway on your blog, you get two entries!!</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">I am reading a good book, <a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00T8RIK7G?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_d_detailpage_o00_">The Good Neighbor</a> by A.J. Banner. It's a mystery. I am only partway in, but I keep saying, just one more chapter. To me, that is the sign of a good book!</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">I play Bingo Blitz on Facebook and really love the game. I was fan of the week this past week! I received free credits and a stuffed animal of their mascot, Blitzy is on its way in the mail to me!! This is what they posted on their Facebook page.</span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<span style="font-size: large;">Until next time...</span>Daniellehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10264011735420763054noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7091906061716755540.post-57405291120021864472015-09-26T15:51:00.001-07:002015-09-26T15:52:32.275-07:00I am having a giant glass of wine right now...<span style="font-size: large;">I think my title pretty much sums it up, eh????</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">I did get some more stitching done on Autumn Logs last night.</span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgrrj5oiOUlQVF4nh0Z4x6S9jS4rRV9o5dpMsdgdeyipvB0WFfmvuQmEEkOIsQDrexVtosdxg0pUgjypd-aM3FMcdNB6zazzmofuCb9PZxYt-GBk49RtL6Rx0f9CgZiqsrV5u4Pmvzm2ZI/s1600/20150926_183359.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgrrj5oiOUlQVF4nh0Z4x6S9jS4rRV9o5dpMsdgdeyipvB0WFfmvuQmEEkOIsQDrexVtosdxg0pUgjypd-aM3FMcdNB6zazzmofuCb9PZxYt-GBk49RtL6Rx0f9CgZiqsrV5u4Pmvzm2ZI/s320/20150926_183359.jpg" width="320" /></a></span></div>
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">And I purchased a Longaberger Cracker basket after seeing one on <a href="http://spinsterstitcher.blogspot.com/">Spinster Stitcher's</a> blog for holding threads and scissors. Love it.</span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg8IM_zNjcSc82DAZtOPLTlF2XunBeHdmkVu142ccziGJjmGpvNyn-E0Ba01ykPgl2ioJ9Wrdm8Unz4WBL65beYO8ul02CCKWHogNA4VoW9Q_A0Nx5ckXhCunIPb3W-xagECXOJEOR9rnA/s1600/20150926_183415.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg8IM_zNjcSc82DAZtOPLTlF2XunBeHdmkVu142ccziGJjmGpvNyn-E0Ba01ykPgl2ioJ9Wrdm8Unz4WBL65beYO8ul02CCKWHogNA4VoW9Q_A0Nx5ckXhCunIPb3W-xagECXOJEOR9rnA/s320/20150926_183415.jpg" width="180" /></a></span></div>
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">And I also bought the Duck Dynasty Devotional that you see next to the basket. Now, I do not care for the show, but the devotional is nice, and I bought it used on Amazon for $1.00!! And it has a soft pink cover, leather like. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">I think I am going to do my nails now and watch a movie. And maybe drink another big glass of wine.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">Until next time...</span>Daniellehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10264011735420763054noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7091906061716755540.post-55343482810843555952015-09-25T09:55:00.001-07:002015-09-25T09:55:07.834-07:00A few more logs done...and new favorite TV show!<span style="font-size: large;">Yesterday I received an e-mail from <a href="http://www.hlcfabrics.com/">HLC Fabrics</a> that when they changed their software for accepting orders on their site it dropped off some customer accounts, and mine was one of them. I had signed up for their FOTM a long time ago, and honestly had forgotten about it until I received the e-mail yesterday. Well, I am receiving a free month for the mix-up! Yay!! I was very happy and grateful. I love to stitch the Mirabilia pixies on hand-dyed fabric. And I figure whatever fabric I get will then dictate what pixie I stitch. I have not stitched one since completing Wisteria at the beginning of June, and believe it or not I stitched that on plain white Lugana. I can't wait to receive the fabric now and see what color I get! Their fabrics are so beautiful and subtly dyed.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">I did get two sections done on Autumn Logs. Not much to see yet. </span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjcGdmrQxMIosWsSktajZALkKPmyyNDvuICFvxjPjKWJPejkAAcQBJQD15eJzJwk_1N_EAytaZoRC4Dukf_auM_0IEXM1jbuQ1twsgvcbf8JQptY_VG5mVIW_ufkF3E6KMFXc4wX54ZpUI/s1600/2015-09-25+12.37.24.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="282" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjcGdmrQxMIosWsSktajZALkKPmyyNDvuICFvxjPjKWJPejkAAcQBJQD15eJzJwk_1N_EAytaZoRC4Dukf_auM_0IEXM1jbuQ1twsgvcbf8JQptY_VG5mVIW_ufkF3E6KMFXc4wX54ZpUI/s320/2015-09-25+12.37.24.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">New favorite show that I discovered completely by accident last night, Fox's <a href="http://www.fox.com/scream-queens">Scream Queens</a>. OMG. So good. And, of course, Scandal and How To Get Away With Murder came back on last night. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">I saw this earring holding on a DIY website. A $3.99 IKEA double-sided photo frame and a piece of white perforated paper. </span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi8zUBbmlOkHWsfCZPeu07S9LTMaFeNvzLNC9ZBIW1SIPgYuYEzI2QMTpnf_yTPSh3GK4M1JfZv3wWp2zIwK3S5lKL54NuRwJkhDz3sdAQMC87JmPgGuVIHsYlap927pCPBsIZ7Am2-KI8/s1600/20150925_123920.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi8zUBbmlOkHWsfCZPeu07S9LTMaFeNvzLNC9ZBIW1SIPgYuYEzI2QMTpnf_yTPSh3GK4M1JfZv3wWp2zIwK3S5lKL54NuRwJkhDz3sdAQMC87JmPgGuVIHsYlap927pCPBsIZ7Am2-KI8/s320/20150925_123920.jpg" width="180" /></a></div>
<span style="font-size: large;"> </span>
<span style="font-size: large;">Have a good stitchy weekend everyone!</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">Until next time...</span>Daniellehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10264011735420763054noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7091906061716755540.post-70480816099077476822015-09-23T05:49:00.001-07:002015-09-23T05:49:06.611-07:00A finish...and a new start!<span style="font-size: large;">I finished Seafoam last night!</span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi65lPoL2-696J2cj7_oJh53xGsL2brl856J19-dQObVdglLgHnI1GE3nrpMZEe6qBqqmHYzaBDWr4oMgLq9TEICRw0qgnvSdMsvRhojEcvAyqC_6eH-dzj-oEhe9tI3u6tCbWtg6ueomM/s1600/2015-09-23+08.41.29.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi65lPoL2-696J2cj7_oJh53xGsL2brl856J19-dQObVdglLgHnI1GE3nrpMZEe6qBqqmHYzaBDWr4oMgLq9TEICRw0qgnvSdMsvRhojEcvAyqC_6eH-dzj-oEhe9tI3u6tCbWtg6ueomM/s320/2015-09-23+08.41.29.jpg" width="317" /></a></span></div>
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">And promptly started Needle Delights Originals Autumn Logs. </span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEib7iVsJF2VB6sad7BJKClzc07Lru3XAyJEdY9TbwFQnn81gbUX8ADE_UnMdes0G0Do-WDaygjI19Aoi2maIBfdW55TbYckQK7lfAgqv1_QGhzBniL4NEyETnkxMNxI8LR8e9RV99hPhJA/s1600/2015-09-23+08.42.17.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="257" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEib7iVsJF2VB6sad7BJKClzc07Lru3XAyJEdY9TbwFQnn81gbUX8ADE_UnMdes0G0Do-WDaygjI19Aoi2maIBfdW55TbYckQK7lfAgqv1_QGhzBniL4NEyETnkxMNxI8LR8e9RV99hPhJA/s320/2015-09-23+08.42.17.jpg" width="320" /></a></span></div>
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Until next time...</span>Daniellehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10264011735420763054noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7091906061716755540.post-62185854280888444942015-09-22T06:33:00.002-07:002015-09-22T06:33:50.187-07:00More Seafoam...<span style="font-size: large;">I did a big chunk on Seafoam last night while finishing Season 5 of Game of Thrones. Now what do I watch? LOL. I have been thinking of starting True Blood. There are 7 seasons of that, so that would keep me busy for a while.</span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhNYHLuGeorniZLf4ij4R5IyZsMkJ0bNsqjhvDKPPQKYzBZP66sUXbN7D6H0wtSGxkZHMr6k2gjNWtS2DzX9aewwtQE4syFf2tYct3_-0bkldXInF_3ehoxZUrl6n_pSUCmXUYXGsfH0V4/s1600/20150922_092941.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhNYHLuGeorniZLf4ij4R5IyZsMkJ0bNsqjhvDKPPQKYzBZP66sUXbN7D6H0wtSGxkZHMr6k2gjNWtS2DzX9aewwtQE4syFf2tYct3_-0bkldXInF_3ehoxZUrl6n_pSUCmXUYXGsfH0V4/s320/20150922_092941.jpg" width="180" /></a></div>
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">And I could not stop reading The Night Sister yesterday, and I finished it! Loved that book. Now I am looking into some other ones by Jennifer McMahon.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">Until next time...</span>Daniellehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10264011735420763054noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7091906061716755540.post-69688826136967504672015-09-21T07:54:00.000-07:002015-09-21T07:54:02.858-07:00The weekend...<span style="font-size: large;">I hope you all had a great weekend. Here are the good highlights from mine: Attended younger sister's first soccer game of the season and they won!! Had a great massage on Sunday morning. Had good quality time with the husband on Sunday afternoon. Made some more progress on Seafoam. See the seahorse needle minder in the corner!?!</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjYc49paGW0JR5LpjTy40VgDP5jLvLFJYKKKI0x-ZKl7g3PHuva1msHeRnsOiI9XLAwyhVtPVWMV1iATGOTrLdwvJMaC5sfeCeCKYCZA5ywGuD0EHZ1CLyELgYiRMlyCP8kdvjtdtNf7VU/s1600/20150921_103444.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjYc49paGW0JR5LpjTy40VgDP5jLvLFJYKKKI0x-ZKl7g3PHuva1msHeRnsOiI9XLAwyhVtPVWMV1iATGOTrLdwvJMaC5sfeCeCKYCZA5ywGuD0EHZ1CLyELgYiRMlyCP8kdvjtdtNf7VU/s320/20150921_103444.jpg" width="180" /></a></span></div>
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">I also spent some good quality time out on our deck, as the weather has been lovely lately, and I started a great book! <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Night-Sister-Novel-Jennifer-Mcmahon-ebook/dp/B00R04IQ4G/ref=tmm_kin_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&qid=1442847104&sr=8-1">The Night Sister</a> by Jennifer McMahon. I also read <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Winter-People-Jennifer-McMahon/dp/0804169969/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1442847104&sr=8-3&keywords=Jennifer+McMahon">The Winter People</a> by the same author earlier this year, which was a good one too. She has written a few others that I will have to check out.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">This weekend I learned it certainly is one step forward and two steps back changing how you react/act to situations and people. I know I am not perfect and I have had the same habits and reactions and whatnot for 41 years. I figure it is like going to the gym, but for my mind! </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Until next time... </span>Daniellehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10264011735420763054noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7091906061716755540.post-56856329161661965462015-09-18T06:20:00.001-07:002015-09-18T12:57:55.512-07:00More Seafoam<span style="font-size: large;">I only did a small bit of stitching last night on Seafoam, but I did get the rest of the pencil lines drawn in for the remaining sections. I have loved working on this one.</span><br />

<span style="font-size: large;">I love glitter nail polishes, but I don't particularly love the removal process, which involved me soaking cotton rounds in nail polish remover and wrapping them around each nail, then pressing aluminum foil to hold said cotton round on my fingernail, and then waiting five minutes. While this process does work, the OPI glitter off base coat I recently purchased works amazingly better!</span><br />

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhUUTRWvjgM9xqF52xxlSBO_aQiR95cz6Opufi67igZ7NvJBVedqD5RcbRxGyp8Og_xSA5JothPzDlMD3DVBLa65kdZNgaTl5PtuTcnTODFUOj8Og1U1F2Wo3isFwN1MWMoD8pvbgg8-zs/s1600/20150917_151032.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhUUTRWvjgM9xqF52xxlSBO_aQiR95cz6Opufi67igZ7NvJBVedqD5RcbRxGyp8Og_xSA5JothPzDlMD3DVBLa65kdZNgaTl5PtuTcnTODFUOj8Og1U1F2Wo3isFwN1MWMoD8pvbgg8-zs/s320/20150917_151032.jpg" width="180" /></a></div>
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">You paint it on like a normal base coat. It goes on white and dries clear. Once it is clear you can put any glitter polish on top. When you are ready to remove your glitter polish just peel up a small corner and all of the polish will peel right off! I purchased this on Amazon for $6.95. I cannot recommend this enough for those who use glitter polish.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">I continue to get through Season 5 of Game of Thrones. Wowsa!!! I need to look up some more synonyms for "wow." LOL. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">I recently heard/read two sayings that I particularly love. One is "nothing changes if nothing changes." And my personal favorite, "no is a complete sentence." As I am apt to say no, and then give a long lengthy explanation. We do not need to explain ourselves to anyone. Another skill I am working on! </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">And this acronym I learned from a friend who attends Al-Anon I particularly like as well: THINK. Before you say anything THINK. Is it Thoughtful? Is it Helpful? Is it Intelligent? Is it Necessary? Is it Kind? </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">People would be saying a lot LESS if they followed this acronym, myself included! I have been putting this into practice since this past Monday and I have said less! But have felt better. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">Until next time...</span>Daniellehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10264011735420763054noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7091906061716755540.post-58340035729587769042015-09-17T05:56:00.000-07:002015-09-17T06:01:23.084-07:00Seafoam<span style="font-size: large;">I finished another section last night on Needle Delights Originals Color Delights ~ Seafoam.</span><br />

<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">I love matching my needle minder magnet to whatever project I am stitching. Even though I currently own about 15 magnets I did not have one related to beach/water, so I went looking on Down Sunshine Lane's website yesterday and happened upon this one:</span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEheka2yvgoDeXAX7XlWiKj00luTgGQim1bhtEl7Y_BeEeE2K4O70CzhyphenhyphensVQymtNaFc-HNVC9ndI-awoSIF4fQl1H0QCB5FpW_qDSjmIk9ZpTobYL6StQe8IvybtrXB9IeeB7NJKmFMjiiI/s1600/seahorse.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="319" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEheka2yvgoDeXAX7XlWiKj00luTgGQim1bhtEl7Y_BeEeE2K4O70CzhyphenhyphensVQymtNaFc-HNVC9ndI-awoSIF4fQl1H0QCB5FpW_qDSjmIk9ZpTobYL6StQe8IvybtrXB9IeeB7NJKmFMjiiI/s320/seahorse.JPG" width="320" /></a></span></div>
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">And I have a fall project waiting in the wings after I complete Seafoam, so I also purchased this one: </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhCzeqcpoO8rEN9vrW8Ysk78dQvO2MD50QPU7cVmjr2b02HGLJIqW3mgMwIshfdASpjXGwYBivtqxPfqFi18Jy09np0JnXBsdniziSQIyexZj5r62U3xSlrNHJSoCP_oBBY3MdtwUmbUJk/s1600/Leaf.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhCzeqcpoO8rEN9vrW8Ysk78dQvO2MD50QPU7cVmjr2b02HGLJIqW3mgMwIshfdASpjXGwYBivtqxPfqFi18Jy09np0JnXBsdniziSQIyexZj5r62U3xSlrNHJSoCP_oBBY3MdtwUmbUJk/s320/Leaf.jpg" width="240" /></a></span></div>
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">I finished Season 4 of Game of Thrones last night and watched the first episode of Season 5. I figure by the end of the weekend I will be caught up, and then have to wait until next April for Season 6. But my beloved American Horror Story is coming back in October, plus some other favorites in September, How To Get Away With Murder, and Scandal. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">My husband and I went to the movies and saw <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qCsULFGldi8">The Visit</a> last weekend. We loved it! Many people seem to have a love/hate relationship when it comes to M. Night Shyamalan's movies. I love them! My most favorite of his was <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UpFdYGZeLsg">The Village</a>, but The Visit is right up there with it. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">Until next time...</span><br />

I am glad fall is here, my favorite season. I started reading a book yesterday called How To Let God Solve Your Problems by Charles Stanley. I like it so far. It gives me a different perspective on handling stress and anxiety and issues. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">By nature I seem to be a person full of stress and anxiety, and I want to change that. And when I stop and think, it is easy to perpetuate negativity with all that is going on in the world. It's easy to focus on the little annoyances and inconveniences of everyday life. And most of the stuff that has come out of my mouth has been a complaint or a grievance or gossip. For the past few days I have focused on being positive. Now, not a Pollyanna by any means, but just not engaging in gossip and just being grateful and thankful every day for what I have in my small part of this world. I figure it is going to be like building a muscle. It will take practice, focused practice, lots of it. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">But after going through the summer I had I realized that I need to be the change I want to see, that changing how I react/act and view situations will, in turn, change those around me, sort of like the ripple effect. Because the one true constant in this world? You can change no one other than yourself. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">On the stitching front I started Needle Delights Originals latest Color Delights ~ Seafoam. I really like the thread choices the designer made in this one. Frye Works is my new favorite sparkle thread! </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhgg73KOnGnCTdhFIS6mxZRUDnPgsLbYdpyum9ayOVupZtVlp7PwlZeFK9WUtsAPtvtZ6TsG-CgqvRA-owU8knS6U8NHgZ1PII_CvEBsbWLb2fumsHJq4SmjQr6cctgFgo6lI-mPtu6lok/s1600/20150916_095454.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhgg73KOnGnCTdhFIS6mxZRUDnPgsLbYdpyum9ayOVupZtVlp7PwlZeFK9WUtsAPtvtZ6TsG-CgqvRA-owU8knS6U8NHgZ1PII_CvEBsbWLb2fumsHJq4SmjQr6cctgFgo6lI-mPtu6lok/s320/20150916_095454.jpg" width="180" /></a></span></div>
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">On the TV front I have been watching The Game of Thrones and am already into the fourth season. Wow, what a show! The thing I love most about it? Characters you despised in the beginning you grow to love as the show goes on. To me that is a sign of great writing. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">Until next time...</span>Daniellehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10264011735420763054noreply@blogger.com3
