A tough summer...

I had a tough summer.  I am glad fall is here, my favorite season.  I started reading a book yesterday called How To Let God Solve Your Problems by Charles Stanley.  I like it so far.  It gives me a different perspective on handling stress and anxiety and issues.

By nature I seem to be a person full of stress and anxiety, and I want to change that.  And when I stop and think, it is easy to perpetuate negativity with all that is going on in the world.  It's easy to focus on the little annoyances and inconveniences of everyday life.  And most of the stuff that has come out of my mouth has been a complaint or a grievance or gossip.  For the past few days I have focused on being positive.  Now, not a Pollyanna by any means, but just not engaging in gossip and just being grateful and thankful every day for what I have in my small part of this world.  I figure it is going to be like building a muscle.  It will take practice, focused practice, lots of it.

But after going through the summer I had I realized that I need to be the change I want to see, that changing how I react/act and view situations will, in turn, change those around me, sort of like the ripple effect.  Because the one true constant in this world?  You can change no one other than yourself.

On the stitching front I started Needle Delights Originals latest Color Delights ~ Seafoam.  I really like the thread choices the designer made in this one.  Frye Works is my new favorite sparkle thread!

On the TV front I have been watching The Game of Thrones and am already into the fourth season.  Wow, what a show!  The thing I love most about it?  Characters you despised in the beginning you grow to love as the show goes on.  To me that is a sign of great writing.

Until next time...
