A new start...and some stash!!

Lately after I stitch a bigger design, like a Nora Corbett, I get sort of burned out, and have to do something smaller and different.  So, yesterday I started Country Cottage Needleworks Joyful Summer on Crafty Kitten 28 count Lugana in Aurora.

On Saturday I met my friend, Jill, for lunch near The Stitching Post, and I had gotten there a little early so I did some shopping.  Here is what I got:  Cinderella and The Queen of Hearts by Classic Colorworks and Diane Williams, Country Cottage Needleworks Spring and Summer, Little House Needleworks First Corinthians, and Samsarah Designs Bloom In Your Own Time kit.

I also picked up the Spring 2015 issue of Cross Stitch & Needlework magazine.

I loved this design so much while flipping through that I also bought the variegated DMC it calls for.

One of our dogs passed away on Friday.  He was in a lot of pain due to arthritis and was 12 years old, so we knew it was coming, but it was still a shock when it did happen.  I thank God that my husband had taken off that day to work on his boat and was here when it happened.  I am reading a book by Joyce Meyer called Battlefield of the Mind, and the day before his passing I had just read about God's timing being perfect in all situations.  And it is so true.  Right when he passed we were able to get him in the car with the help of a neighbor and go get him cremated, and we were home a few hours later.  We purchased a really nice wooden box that I will be able to put a picture on the front and his name will be engraved on the box.

RIP Mojo.  You will be missed.

  1. So sorry to hear about your baby :( Losing pets is so hard. He was pretty. At least you knew it was coming so you had time to prepare. My thoughts are with you :)

  6. It's always sad when a much loved pet passes, my thoughts are with you and I hope you can soon remember him with a happy smile instead of a tearful heart.
    Nice new charts your purchased.

  7. What a big boy your furbaby was. Golden lab? I had labs (black and a golden) years ago. I don't think we're ever prepared for our pets passing.

On a better note, nice stashing!!
